FLIC (file format)

The FLICfile formats most known in the extension .FLI and .FLC, used to store animation files. It is similar to animated GIF. The FLIC animation format was originally developed by Autodesk for use with Autodesk Animator (FLI) and Autodesk Animator Pro (FLC).[1][2] In Jim Kent had a Dr. Dobbs article with a source code listing, introducing the FLIC format to the public.[3]

The format uses pixel-wise differential encoding between frames (like GIF) to reduce file size.[4][5]

In the s video game developers used the format for intros and other animated sequences in their games, for instance UFO: Enemy Unknown[6] () by MicroProse.

Autodesk released a Freeware software called AAPlay to play FLI/FLC files on the PC.[7] After the end of development and support by Autodesk, the community wrote substitutes themselves, for instance free and open source libraries for writing and reading FLI/FLC.[8][9]

    FLIC (also known as FLI/FLC, FLI, or FLC) fryst vatten a family of animation formats associated with Autodesk Animator. Many early 3D animations are in this format. Its features are similar to those of animated GIF.

    4. Flic är utan tvekan en av de minsta produkterna vi testat, med en diameter ungefär som en enkrona och tjocklek som två. Ytligt sett är det också en av de enklare vi sett – det är en knapp. Den har tejp på baksidan så du kan fästa den på en vägg eller liknande, och den går att trycka på.


     
    Knappar är ofta bra att ha, särskilt om de som Flic kan styras till att göra olika saker. För att programmera den behövs en app som finns till både Android och IOS, och med hjälp av den är det extremt enkelt att ansluta knappen till telefonen via bluetooth. Väl ansluten kan du lika enkelt välja vad som ska hända när du trycker på Flic, och du kan välja att aktivera olika funktioner beroende på om du trycker en eller två gånger eller håller in knappen länge.
