    Filmen handlar om clownfiskbarnet Nemo som förlorar som mamma redan som liten och som i skolåldern blir kidnappad av några mänskliga dykare för att bli akvariefisk. Pappa Clownfisk tar upp jakten på sitt enda barn och företar en lång resa genom havet för att rädda Nemo. Till sin hjälp får han den efterhängsna men välmenande Dory som har extremt kort närminne.

    Filmen var bra, tror jag. Hann nästan inte lägga märke till det, jag var nämligen så fascinerad över att den var så upprorisk som jag tror att en Hollywood-film kan vara, och ändå bli lanserad och marknadsförd. Om man bara klippte bort eländet i början med förorts-gulligull, och mamma Fisks bortgång, så hade jag kallat den queer.

    Till att börja med var fisk-flickan (Dory, inte Doris som översättaren trodde) tecknad som en vanlig firre, som alla de andra. Inga långa ögonfransar eller märkliga frisyrer. Dessutom var hon blå, inte rosa. Hon talade nomalt, inget pip eller skrik eller fånigt fnitter. Hon var en kul prick helt enkelt.
